i didnt know only the group starter had this abillity as the permissions for capts look the same on my end, i guess something has to be different when using the transfer group ownership over promoting someone to leader

I am holding back the release of "Social Groups" on my forum until the essential privacy features (for albums for example) are implemented but my members are keen for the launch.

My big thing is when users create a forum , i don't want it in my node list and i want it to auto hide to any non group members

Thats already implemented in the current version.

i do not see where this setting is , when members create forums it puts them in my nodelist and i don't even have permission to view them but can still enter the posts in the "new posts"

Then you are using previous versions' (old) forums associated to groups maybe? The latest version allows to create forums IN the group that are only displayed to the group members and not on forum index.
