Hello, I just purchased this addon for a very large forum (400,000 members) and I'm now concerned that the addon may not do what I need.
I thought the addon would sync in both directions.
I'm now wondering what happens when I send an email to my list and thousands of them unsubscribe? They become unsubscribed in Sendy, but not in my forum? So the sync between XF and Sendy is only one direction?
What about the XF interface? If someone is subscribed, receives the email, and clicks "unsubscribe" from the email, what shows in the user's preferences?
I also posted this on xf here, but I'm wondering, if I need to break my subscribers into two lists, is there a way to do this with this addon?
I guess I'm just very confused about how this addon works exactly.
From Sendy to XF is not possible yet
When user unsubscribed from sendy it also unsubscribed to XenForo.
Ok, thank you. I ask for your patience as I try to figure everything out properly:
Thank you for your help. Hopefully this will be of help to others also looking to send large newsletters.
- First, after installing Sendy & this addon, I need to check "Apply Subscribe rebuilds" and rebuild users.
- All users are sent into a list in Sendy
- I send out my newsletter
- Hard Bounces from SES are processed through xenforo? - What happens to make sure these are unsubscribed from Sendy?
- A user clicks "unsubscribe" from the newsletter. This is captured in Sendy, but not sent to XF, is this correct?
- For the user that unsubscribed: What will it show in the user's profile on XF? Will they still show as subscribed there, even if they are unsubscribed via Sendy?
