Question Is there a way to disable group join request message box?

I'd kind of like to turn this off completely.

I don't want users to be faced with this and then just cancel out of it because they can't think of anything to write.

You must turn off this option: 'Ask to join with a brief message.'

Right, but it must be done on an individual group basis, and it defaults to on, with no forum admin setting to default it to off.

It seems a lot of the settings could really do with having an admin defined default and the ability to hide it completely from the group creations stage to simplify the process for new group admins, and to ensure that all the default settings are as the forum admin would prefer.

It's the same problem with this setting:



It defaults to checked on, which means that if the admin isn't very active after creating a group - then all new posts never go live on the group!
