Hello ,

I read who said about the app should have member deletion option & it's available in the app : but it's difficult to put this option , any solution or alternatives to prevent this option ? ( most forums from starting didn't put this option & maybe anyone angry in certain time in example then remove it but want to back ) .

Anyone also have his App in Apple app store without putting this option ? & we want a solution to prevent it

* Also i want to ask the admin about simple changes like change the link of + button ( which show in middle ) : instead create new thread , put link for website to show it inside the app .

1. Apple / Google requires every app must allow users delete their account. If not, your app will not be approved
2. There is a option you can turn it off in admin.

I read in example ( Note that this doesn't cover accounts that aren't created in your app. For example, if you have user accounts on your website and let people log in to their account in your app (but not create it there), you don't have to let them delete it in the app. )

so at least we will have option to hide it from these accounts who already signed up ?

momoIt's great.

When to find solution for this issue? To not the user be able to delete his account directly

This is good explanation from ChatGPT :

Both Apple’s App Store and Google Play have strict guidelines regarding user account deletion. Apple, in particular, requires that apps offering account creation must also provide an in-app option for account deletion, which includes deleting personal data in accordance with privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA.

Solution & Workarounds

To comply with their policies while maintaining your forum’s structure (keeping posts but removing user accounts), consider the following approach:
1. Provide an In-App Account Deletion Request
• Instead of allowing instant deletion, offer an option where users request deletion via the app.
• Clarify in the deletion flow that their posts will remain for community integrity but will be anonymized (e.g., replacing the username with “Deleted User”).
2. Explicitly Explain the Policy
• In the Terms of Service & Privacy Policy, state that posts remain even after account deletion but personal identifiers (username, email, etc.) will be removed.
• Provide an FAQ section explaining why posts remain to prevent future disputes.
3. Anonymization Instead of Full Deletion
• Implement a system where, upon account deletion, all personally identifiable information (PII) is erased, but forum contributions (posts, comments) remain under an anonymous identifier.
• Many platforms, like Reddit and some Discourse-based forums, use this method to balance user rights with content integrity.
4. Ensure Compliance with Privacy Laws
• If users request full data erasure under GDPR/CCPA, offer a way to process it manually via email support.
• Highlight this manual review process in the app’s Privacy Settings section.

Key Takeaway

Instead of blocking membership deletion, you can delay it through a review process while ensuring posts remain anonymous. This approach keeps you compliant with app store policies while achieving your forum’s needs.

momoYou can turn off feature to delete account in add-on options.

explain how & will be accepted by both stores ?
momoYou enable it when apple approves then disable it when it approved. Apple does not check it often. If you can give a good reason for Apple you can disable it forever.

TruonglvMy suggestion in Example is to put choice to Request to delete the membership and automatically transfer them to open a topic in a special section created for this purpose.

If Apple and others refuse, maybe should work on direct deletion, but on condition that the posts are preserved and remain.
