Hello, I just purchased this addon for a very large forum (400,000 members) and I'm now concerned that the addon may not do what I need.

I thought the addon would sync in both directions.

I'm now wondering what happens when I send an email to my list and thousands of them unsubscribe? They become unsubscribed in Sendy, but not in my forum? So the sync between XF and Sendy is only one direction?

What about the XF interface? If someone is subscribed, receives the email, and clicks "unsubscribe" from the email, what shows in the user's preferences?

I also posted this on xf here, but I'm wondering, if I need to break my subscribers into two lists, is there a way to do this with this addon?

I guess I'm just very confused about how this addon works exactly.

ProComWhat do you mean for "both directions"?
 
Sorry, I meant that no data is passed from Sendy to Xenforo through this addon.

I have a huge list and want to make sure that I keep my members (and SES) happy, so I need to be sure that all unsubscribes, bounces, spam reports, etc. are all accounted for and processed properly.
 
Ahh. From Sendy to XF is not possible yet. Because that sendy did not provide any webhook which allow third parties to using :D

Sorry, maybe it is the language difference between us, or maybe my little sleep over the past week, but these seem like opposite things, no?

If Sendy does not talk to XF, then how is it possible that when a user unsubscribes from the link in the newsletter, that this information is passed back to XF?

Also, #6 was not clear: If a user clicks the "unsubscribe" link in the email they received, what happens in the user's profile where it shows them the newsletters to which they are subscribed?
 
Ok, thank you. I ask for your patience as I try to figure everything out properly:
  1. First, after installing Sendy & this addon, I need to check "Apply Subscribe rebuilds" and rebuild users.
  2. All users are sent into a list in Sendy
  3. I send out my newsletter
  4. Hard Bounces from SES are processed through xenforo? - What happens to make sure these are unsubscribed from Sendy?
  5. A user clicks "unsubscribe" from the newsletter. This is captured in Sendy, but not sent to XF, is this correct?
  6. For the user that unsubscribed: What will it show in the user's profile on XF? Will they still show as subscribed there, even if they are unsubscribed via Sendy?
