Source code of mobile apps

Hello. Will the source code of mobile apps ever be available for sale? Maybe for sufficient price like *X of regular price. Because in fact it is a rent of apk per year. Sometimes customization is needed, without source codes this is impossible, i.e. the project is centralized.

Suggestions for future. You could create 2 version of resource:
1. As it is now. Rental per year without source code, just ready for use apk with the need to extend (analogue of XenForo Cloud service)
2. Buying of source code for life. With readme, instructions on how to build apk (like https://xenforo.com/docs/xf2/). Analogue of XenForo Forums.

The main thing is that both versions should supported, with updates and the same bugfixes.
 
It's up to the app developers whether or not they want to sell the source code of their mobile apps. Some developers might be open to the idea, like smartengines.com/ , while others might not want to share their proprietary code. However, remember that just having the source code doesn't necessarily mean you can do whatever you want with it. There may be legal restrictions on what you can modify and redistribute, and you would need the technical know-how to make any changes.

Kelly94Strange comment :) Just like admins decide for themselves whether to install apps without source code and the possibility of editing. If suddenly the previous developer will retire, and corrections will be needed in future, without sources it's impossible.
Of course, this is discussing. And depends on price. Nobody can force a developer 😆
