XF1 → XF2.3 import questions

I have imported Nobita SG 2.9.1a to tl SG 4.0.4 and am encountering a few issues. There are no errors in the log.

1. While group avatars have been imported, it seems that group covers have not been imported. Both avatars and covers reside in the same /data/ directory, so I don't understand why covers are not there.
   
   
2. Group Forums and Discussions do not display. Groups do list the number of discussions in the stats, so these seem to be imported. But I cannot see it. I have analyzed permissions and I should be able to see thread content. I have rebuild threads, forums and users.
   The issue may be that before importing, I do not set 'Archive group forums to node' in Social Group options. If I open the drop down, all forums are greyed out and I cannot select a forum node.

Please advice on how to proceed.

2. Group forums requires more config to display correctly if you upgrade from old version.

I see that the group ID numbers have changed. For example:
/groups/newbie-help-group.367/
has become:
/groups/newbie-help-group.233/
Is it possible to keep these the same so that the URL is unchanged?

If yes, where can I find it in the group?
I dont see it here:
/group-actions/233/cover

Could you please explain this? What do I need to do?
