Question Xenforo 2 timeline

Hi @truonglv,
can you tell us what the timeline for xf2 compatible version of Social Groups is? I'm starting to make my plans for upgrade and it seems that SG is the only missing piece for my first upgrade trials...

Not really. I have tried Snog's add-on for Xenforo 1.x and found it inferior to @truonglv . I also don't think there's a migration path to Snog's add-on.

jansluHi. An version for XF2 under doing. It's quite good point yet. If you want to try play around with this version. Please drop an PM with me ;)

Ranger375Yeah. I have an issue about the forums and threads for group. As you see the version for XF 1. Many issues about thread, also if you have thousand groups then you might have thousand forums. It's terrible until you don't want to use this add-on anymore. I still don't found the best way t0 implement it.

  1. Create a forum category: Social Groups. Sort order: 10000
    Put all group forums in this.
  2. Give all Group forums minimum sort order of 10000. If a group has sort order 20 now, then change that to 10020. If it is 130 now, then change it to 10130.
  3. For all groups forums: do not show in node list. But make a function to do show in group node list.
  4. If group forum name = 'group discussions' then change the name to [groupname] + forum

alfa1Implemented in next version of this add-on for XenForo 1.x
