Messenger (Realtime Chatting) suggestions

I was testing Messenger here with a member from my forum. He agreed with me that it is a really good mod! A few suggestions tho: Add "tooltips" to the two buttons in the upper right of the IM chat window so people know what they are for. Also, make the "Members Online" menu more robust. I noticed while chatting that if I happened to close the IM window, my friend wouldn't always appear in Members Online, but then if he wrote me, he would be there. Maybe make it more persistent, so it's easier to re-open a chat window. Thanks!!
 
There is no way to change this? What if the other user never writes anything and is waiting for ME to write? Then I'd have to find the user, and re-open chat.. :(
