Question Display Events in Sidebar?

Is there a way to do this without modifying the templates? I want to pull all the public events from all groups and display it in a sidebar block on the main forums.

I haven't looked at the templates yet, so no idea what all it would take. If you have an idea and it can be done easily, I'll just do that.

Another question: how long of a wait for joining events? Just curious mostly.
