Lock or Close post functionality

Hi,

Just want to suggest something (I think) useful and must have.

A button named "Close Post" or "Lock Post" or "Close comments" or "Lock comments" that when clicked, no more comment be able to posted in that post.

Why I suggest it? We have a legal forum. Users will create groups for different fields of law. They will discuss about everything. And sometimes they will debate about a law case. A law case will be finished when they reach to the end of story. And last comment will be the Sentence (Judge's Sentence). After this, the discussion should be closed and no body should be able to post comments any more.

Or sometimes we want to post something that logically we don't want to let others to comment on it (for different reasons)

An option in permissions will let some usergroups to be able to close any post in any group. Also we can set for roles that which one be able to close group's posts.

If implemented, that would be appreciated.

This seems to take just a little time from you to implement it.

Hope you add it (it can be done with adding a button in post menu or just a check box, just like what we have in thread tools)

any update on this?

it can be a really nice feature. and surely will increase the activity in groups. Lots of people don't post contents in groups because they are not interested to host debates.
If they see that they can lock or close a post and not let others to comment on it, then they will start their activity.
