Unmmm you already can do this.... just change the groups per row style property in ACP appearance

You can make the social group cards wider by adjusting the amount of colums you show. The user thumbs are nice but the tag line gives valuable info. At least make it optional with check marks in ACP: “Show Tagline” “Show Member Avatars” So each admin can decide for himself.

Indeed... optional per group please. Or optional per category. And in ACP category you could set a checkmark for "Group requires location" meaning that you can force group creators to select a location in certain categories.

I tried it now and with regular core XF Forums the latest post entry always updates to the latest existing post reply. As soon as I delete a thread the "last post" entry jumps to the last post of another thread. Even if I ban the user beforehand and after that delete the thread. In other words...
